ExpressCard
Von der PCMCIA (Personal Computer Memory Card International Association) entwickelter Standard für PC-Steckkarten, der die PCMCIA-Card (auch PC-Card genannt) ablösen soll.
Die deutlich kleinere ExpressCard ist sowohl für Desktop-Rechner als auch für Notebooks und mobile Geräte geeignet. Sie unterstützt den USB-Standard 2.0 und PCI-Express Applikationen. Sie ist Hot-Plug-fähig, d.h. sie wird vom System beim Einstecken im laufenden Betrieb automatisch erkannt und konfiguriert.
